I found my tree, now what?
Yay! First thing: find a crewmember in a neon vest and show them to the tree you picked. Then take the bottom half of the tag into the sales tent for check out.
Meanwhile, they’ll give the tree a fresh cut and a shakeout!
PLEASE don’t pull the bottom tag off a tree until you are certain it’s the one you want! We write them all by hand and it can be quite tedious to fix.
How long does it take to get flocking done?
Flocking is a careful process, and it generally takes us about 2 days from start to finish. Once a tree is flocked, it needs time to fully dry before it can be moved.
Please note: if the weather is rainy or humid, drying time can increase significantly. We always prefer to play it safe so your tree is fully set, beautiful, and ready to enjoy before you take it home.
Is Steve’s Trees open on Thanksgiving?
Not this year. As a family we realized that we would end up spending the entire day working, and not really be able to enjoy the holiday ourselves. If you’re at the lot, and I’m at the lot, then who’s flying the plane cooking the turkey?
Don’t worry though, we open the Saturday before Thanksgiving and will be open every day (besides turkey day) until the trees run out!
Why does delivery start at 4pm?
Our delivery crew is the same friendly team that helps you on the lot, so we need them there during the day to assist families choosing their trees. Deliveries begin at 4pm, which also works well since most people are home from work around 5.
We start in Napa and deliver in order of closeness, working our way up valley and then back down. When it’s your turn, our team will give you a call so you know your tree is on the way.
Have a special need or timing request? We’ll always do our best to accommodate, but please note it depends on our team’s availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Do you negotiate prices?
We don’t — our prices are set by the height and species of each tree. We keep our markup very small, and in fact we’ve held the same prices for the last three seasons.
We do our very best to keep trees as affordable as possible, but please remember: these are real plants that take 10+ years to grow before they reach your living room. Each one is the product of a decade of care, and we price them as fairly as we can so families can continue to enjoy this tradition year after year.
Does this tree preservative really work?
Yes it really does! We’ve been using it in our own family for decades. Tree preservative works just like flower food, helping your tree stay fresher, greener, and more hydrated through the holiday season.
Other tips to keep your tree looking its best:
Keep it away from heating vents and windows with direct sun.
Always make sure the stand is filled with water — trees are thirsty!
With a little care (and preservative), your Christmas tree will stay healthy and beautiful all season long.
